Hard work always gives success; sometimes it just gets postponed.
Hi friends I’m Akash. I am a silent reader of BA. Today I am quite happy writing my story in the preparation of bank exam and I have been waiting a long time to write one.
I am just an above average student starting from matriculation. But I could not find any luck in the MCQ type examinations for getting admitted into any prestigious engineering institutes. So I pursued graduation course in Physics. And after that I completed post graduation in 2014.
When I passed out in the month of May this year, I could not clear GATE, NET examinations to pursue PhD from research labs so I started preparation for bank examinations. Initially I was thinking about joining an institute and few of my relatives said me to do so. But I thought about it, and did not join any institute. My first exam was SBI clerical and I managed to attempt every section except GA. I came to know about the difficulty level of clerical exam. Though after that I had RBI clerical but I was not confident seeing the number of posts. So I tried to give my maximum effort for IBPS PO. But I missed it by 2 marks and I was unhappy for that. I mentally prepared myself for preparing for another one year. The mental preparation was required to overcome the questions of neighbors. Then came IBPS clerical which I thought of not attempting coz of some family problems. However I took out my time and appeared it. And yes, I got selected in that only exam.
As I was very poor in GA, so I tried to take help from internet for the first time in my life. I got a few websites out of which BA was the best. The comment section was a pleasant surprise for me as I had never imagined so many questions could be discussed by so many students at a single place from all over the country. I would recommend any aspirant just to follow the Gk updates and the questions discussed by the students to strengthen the GA part. I would like to thank Shruti ma’am for supporting all through the period of exams by virtue of which I think could do well. I would thank students with disqus names arun jaitley fm, Pi, PS, K mayank, JOTS, BOSS and many such names who helped me in quizzes, maths revision and interview prep. Without you all I cannot think even of clearing the exam.
I had appeared for the following exams:
1. SBI clerical – not cleared (secured 116/ cut off 130)
2. RBI clerical- not cleared (secured 140/ cut off 160)
3. IBPS PO - not cleared (secured 80/ cut off 82)
4. IBPS clerical- selected in UCO Bank, my first preference (secured overall 76.8/100, written 157/200, interview 70/100)
Lastly, I would thank the almighty, my parents and sister for their constant support.
