Hi!! This is Jeevan Chaitanya, recently got selected as PO for United Bank Of India through IBPS CWE-5. Actually this was the first bank exam that I have applied for and was very happy that I’ve got placed. I am a graduate (B.Tech) in EEE relieved in 2015. .

My father is working as a conductor in APSRTC. His job was a very pressurized one with all mental tensions. Seeing him in that state I always aspired to secure good job so that he will be somewhat relaxed. Many companies came to our college for placements. Most of them are of software and I am not all interested in software field. I rejected 2 software jobs. But my father didn’t ask for a reason as he knew that I am not interested in them. Now and then he used to say that his friend gave him sweet as his child got job which made me somewhat feel sad. I want to tell one thing, never ever in my life my parents forced me to do anything. They left everything for my own decision. Due to age eligibility criteria I didn’t apply for SBI PO but I have applied for SSC CGL within one month of my relieving. I thought to give it a try by preparing on my own but I couldn’t managed to clear while I got 85 whereas the cut off was 89. Then I realized that I need guidance and so I have joined CAREER POWER for a course of 2months (Fast track batch). There I have seen the real world which is very different from that of B.Tech life. Even though it was only 2 months completed after relieving from college I have come to know the meaning of unemployment when I came to Hyderabad and seeing people struggling to get jobs and that made me stand stiff on my aim of getting job anyway.
Everyone there in the institute used to have discussions over current affairs or banking news etc.… I am the only odd one out. Being a B.Tech student I was not aware of all these. I was very afraid thinking how I can manage GA which is all time hate story for me. The faculty over there are quite active and taught in interesting manner so that I have managed to inculcate the habit of going through daily current affairs. Two things that I won’t forget in life, actually gave me life by helping me clearing this exam, one is Career power institute and the other is my friend Sailesh… Every day we used to start preparation from morning 10 and at least we used to refer 2 subjects per day until evening 7. Then we used to take online test from the package given by Career power. After the test we used to discuss the section where we got less or negative marks. The very next day we used to prepare those topics and take a test. I was very thankful that both, my sir and Sailesh didn’t feel irritated and helped me in every step of my preparation. Let it be 1am or 3am I used to send my doubts to them and whenever they see them they immediately sent solutions. For General awareness and current affairs I didn’t go out of BA Capsule. While attempting exam I gave much preference to accuracy rather than quantity. I attempted only 11 in computers in mains exam and for my luck the cutoff was 11 in computers. I’ve followed the only advice that if we are good in any topic then try to become better and best in that topic rather than touching all the topics. I got 84.5 in IBPS PO-5 MAINS. Scaling these marks to 80 I got 33.8, so I need to get at least 70 in my interview out of 100 for having fair chances of getting selected. I was very fortunate that my interview went very well and the panel members assured me that result will be good. Finally the wait was over as April 1st was approached. I was very confident that everything will be fine. Due to some circumstances I could not able to see my result. Again it was Sailesh who congratulated me seeing my result. I got exactly 70 in interview that’s how I managed to get job. And the very happy part is that he too got placed in Bank of India as clerk. When I informed my father about my result his happiness was depicted in his slow and relaxing voice saying that that your hard work payed. I was very happy to share my story here and will be grateful to everyone who supported me all the way here…..
